Fashion faux pas: Crop tops

I love going shopping. I don't actually buy that much stuff, I just like going. I usually shop the clearance racks or at second hand stores which I like because it's like a lottery- am I going to find something good today? Is it going to be cheap? Will it be in my size? There's a thrill in shopping cheap and I get a little high off it. Sometimes, I am browsing racks of tops, and 2 feet down the rack from me, I see a pretty fluttering sleeve. I excitedly flip through the remaining plastic hangers leading up to that pretty fluttering sleeve until my hand is finally on that beautiful sleeve's hanger, and then, as if in slow motion, I dramatically pull that hanger off the rack and hold it up in front of me an arm's length away, with high hopes that I have just won the lottery... only to find that the shirt is half the length of the torso of human female adult. What the heck!

NOOO MORE CROP TOPS
noooo!!!!
I do not like crop tops. They are taking over the world in a bad way. They don't make sense unless you are less than 5 feet tall and they are actually a top (I'm completely serious about this). They don't cover your body. They don't cover your belly button. What is the point of a shirt that doesn't cover the upper half of your body? That's like owning a blanket that only covers from your hips to your legs. Just because you're skinny doesn't mean you have to wear a crop top. Just because you're good at math doesn't mean you have to be an engineer. Follow your heart, do what you want, and don't wear a crop top. Especially to your theology class at your Catholic school! Yes, a girl in my class actually wore a crop top to class and talked one-on-one after class with our middle-aged male Catholic professor. Gross.

What do you guys think? Where do you think crop tops belong in our society?

Looking cute for spring time

Yesterday we sprung forward one hour for spring which means spring is well on it's way! Thank goodness. I was getting tired of dusk at 5 pm and wearing a ton of layers because it is cold outside. This quarter in school, I had lab or clinical every school day, which meant I wore scrubs every day while all my pretty clothes rotted in my closet... Then on off days, I'd wear leggings because it was an off day! What a vicious cycle of not being cute.

Next quarter, I'm only confined to scrubs 2 days, so I have 2 school days to wear cute clothes and 3 day weekends (who knows if those will be cute days)! I am excited. You may think this is totally silly, but I'll take my tiny wins where ever I can get them. I think I'll be starting Style Monday posts to start inspiring me to be cuter... starting with this! I made a cute outfit with pieces that look like things I own. Definitely something I would wear and definitely something cute!

Coincidences + Cuffs

Today a cool coincidence happened! I love coincidences because they give me a sense of destiny and faith and yada yada yada. Just kidding, I just love coincidences because they are fun!

So this morning, Seattle experienced it's first sunny day in probably two weeks. I went to Starbucks to get studying for my test on Friday, and I got a text from my favorite future nurse ever, Jenny, commenting on how there was so much cute clothes at Gap... Gap like 5 stores down from me?!!!?!?! So I told her to come find me and she did! And what did she have with her? All her stuff to study for pharm with me!!!  I know see this girl for a full day pretty much every other day, but I even surprised myself with how excited I was to see her. Yay for unexpected coincidences!

Also, I am noticing (partly due to Jenny) that cuffed jeans are the newest trend, so I cuffed my jeans today. I must say it makes me feel cool, but also short. This is what Gap's website looks like right now. Cuffs people, yay or nay? photo Untitled_zpsb1e49684.png
